Holiday France? This sounds like a perfect combination. For your holiday in France our two story stone home and holiday gite is in the heart of our small village of Langoat, Brittany, France. Set amongst fields of the 'Cotes D'Armor' along the river Jaudy. This part of Brittany is a holiday favorite and close to a wide variety of beaches, green fields dotted with standing stones, ancient chateau and villages of stone and slate. Horseback riding, golf, swimming, walking trails and kayaking are nearby. We are across the street from a lovely churchyard with a bakery / patisserie, village bar, grocer and chic hair stylist down the street. Three beautiful upstairs bedrooms accommodate up to six people in splendid comfort. One with double bed, one with two singles and one with queen bed. A large salon/dining area with granite fireplace and traditional Breton furnishings. The country kitchen has modern appliances. Off of the attached garage is a decked terrace with table, chairs, BBQ and view of church clock tower. There are two upstairs bathrooms, one with a shower and one with a sunken bath. Included is a washer and tumble dryer. All together the perfect holiday location combined with the perfect holiday accommodation.

You have now arrived at our holiday gite in Brittany and once thru the Breton red front door, the large tiled salon/dining room is filled with the carved wood furniture native to Brittany, complete with a stone fireplace, a large sofa, two comfortable reading chairs and an otterman. The TV (BBC satellite), DVD’s with movie selections and CD player (CD’s from jazz to rock) are in their own armoir with board games, puzzles and cards for quiet evenings.

Outside & downstairs

The dining table seats eight and matches the antique buffet, carved with Breton figures.

Kitchen

The walls are rubbed a warm golden color and hung with tapestries. A step up from the dining area under the stone lintel is the large and modern kitchen with fridge/freezer, microwave, Double sink, electric hob and dishwasher. In keeping with the age of the home are partially exposed stonewalls. We have a large kitchen farm table with bench to share a glass of wine while the cook is busy.

The walls in all the rooms have paintings and tapestries hung, with a decor displaying French life in the warmth and charm of Brittany.

 

Upstairs are two full baths, one with shower and one with a sunken bath. This bathroom also has a washer and tumble dryer.

 

Bathrooms

There are 3 double bedrooms that sleep 6. The rose room with a double bed, the green room with two singles, and the blue room with a queen size bed. All are well appointed with excellent mattresses, duvets, antique armoirs or dressers and hanging tapestries and paintings.

You can park in the public lot next to the house in front of the town hall (Marie) or in our attached garage, which is also convenient to store bicycles. Off of the garage is the decked terrace with table and chairs and a BBQ, it’s stonewalls covered in ferns and a view of the church and clock tower.

We want all of our guests to enjoy their holiday in a home filled with all things Breton and feel that, for a time, they have a home in Brittany.

A security (breakage) deposit of £250 will be required to be paid with the final payment. This sum will be reimbursed within 2 weeks of your departure and after a satisfactory final inspection of the property. Le Coq Noir is a smoke free environment Upon acceptance of your request, we will mark the dates as reserved. A deposit of 20% should then be made within 10 days to secure the booking. The remainder of the payment must be made no later than 8 weeks before the starting date of your holiday. We accept payment in both Pounds Sterling and Euros, please ask for the exchange rate before making any payment in Euros. The prices listed include bed linen, electricity, water and wood for the fireplace. There are no hidden extras This home is on two levels and not suited for those with mobility difficulties or for children under 4 years of age.
