La Petite Maison is charming, award winning cottage, in the Périgord Limousin National park region.
Sleeps 2-6 people with private pool.
On the edge of a quiet hamlet, but not isolated, La Petite Maison is spacious & comfortable having it's own entrance & parking, furnished patio & BBQ area.
On the ground floor, fully tiled, there is a compact fully fitted kitchen with fridge, freezer, 4 burner gas stove, microwave, dishwasher & washing machine.
The dining area seats up to 6, high chair available.
The large, comfortably furnished lounge with wood burning stove has TV (satellite/freebox) , video, large video and book libraries. Games & lawn games.
Stairs from the lounge lead up to a double bedroom with shower en-suite.
From the dining area there are steps up to a double bedroom then up to a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower.
There is a private garden area , fully fenced pool (7x4mts) with floaties, cushioned loungers, BBQ table with parosol.
On site - bicycles, boules court, badminton, volleyball, archery, football area.
A welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, sugar, butter, bread, conserve, beer & btl wine will be waiting for you;
No smoking inside the cottage.
The village of St Estèphe, 1km, has a minimarket, post office, bakery, brocants, cafés, bars, general store. Le Grand Etang de St Estèphe has a beach, moored diving platform, boardwalks, picnic areas, cafés, bars, restaurant, children's activity area's (fenced) and in high season there is a lifeguard and free canoes/kayaks. Tennis court.
Horse riding 1.5kms, fishing/carp fishing may be arranged.
Good restaurants nearby.
The town of Piégut, 5kms, has a huge Wednesday morning market, restaurants, cafés, supermarket & various shops, all facilities.
Nontron, 9 kms, has choice of large supermarkets, a good Saturday morning market, all facilities and there are historic buildings and the oldest knife factory in France.
Brantôme, the 'Venice of the Dordogne' is 1/2 hour by car. This beautiful historic town with it's centre in the river Dronne has a good Friday morning market, restaurants & cafés, caves & a château to visit. Take a boat trip around the town or canoe downriver to Bourdeilles (3hrs!) for lunch.
St Sornin winery, 25mins, tour & taste before you buy.
Angoulême, Limoges & Périgueux are major cities each with Roman 'hearts'. Lots to see & shop for.
Oradour-sur-Glane the living museum villge, a reminder of WW11.
Take a day out at the forest activity centre & climb into the tree tops. Tracks for all levels & ages at Les Acrobois.
