La Tannerie, a beautifully restored 18th Century Millhouse located just on the edge of the traditional French village of St Germain du Salembre in the Perigord Blanc. Within walking distance you have a Boulangerie/Epicerie for your croissant and a Bar Tabac for your glass of wine.
It offers you a stunning location from which you, your friends and family can come and relax and enjoy this beautiful area of France.
Ground Floor
Enter from the courtyard into the 80m2 open plan lounge which is arranged in two distinct styles - luxurious leather suites and modern furnishing in the television area and antique furniture in the music area, which also has a traditional large fireplace. The room has two log burners and both areas provide enough comfortable seating for everyone to relax in.
First Floor
The newly fitted kitchen/dining room has a 5 ring Professional gas cooker, cooker hood, dishwasher, breakfast bar, wooden worktops and large fridge freezer. This is equipped with everything you could possible need and more. The dining area has a large table and 12 chairs and a fireplace with a wood burning stove.
Doors open onto your own outside veranda where you can eat your breakfast looking out over the pool and rear garden. A 'Juliette' balcony looks over the millstream.
The six large bedrooms, some with tv/dvds/videos, have English and French antique furnishing, beams and exposed stone walls.
Exceptionally well fitted modern bath/shower rooms with added little touches of luxury for you to enjoy. Everything is provided - bath and hand towels, soaps, hair dryers and the essential tissues and loo roll !! The newly refurbished third shower room now has a beautiful large 'curved glass' shower cubical, toilet and hand basin.
The outside
The private pool (alarmed) is located in the rear garden and here also there are two barbeques, an eating area for twelve people, a garden swing, childrens' eating area, pergola with table and chairs and sun loungers and parasols around the pool.
The courtyard entrance is full of flowers and palms, and there are many more verandas and terraces with tables and chairs, loungers and parasols - you can sit by the millstream and relax and enjoy the sound of the water.
Under the open barn there is a pool table, darts and table tennis, childrens toys to keep the younger ones happy and 12 bikes to enable you to take a ride out enjoy the countryside around La Tannerie
The meadow can be used to play badminton, cricket or football.

We welcome you to the house with a basket of essential items so that you don't have to run to the shops straight away and, of course, there is a glass of Kir or Bucks Fizz to start your holiday in typical French fashion.
The surrounding area
The house is ideally placed just outside St Astier, located on the river Isle this medieval market town has supermarkets, weekly produce market, banks, shops, fishing and canoe trips, Neuvic with its old château and trout fishing pond and Riberac also with large supermarkets, shops, banks and large weekly produce market.
Visit the ancient capital of Perigueux with its magnificent cathedral, shops bars and restaurants, Close by you have Aubeterre, Sarlat, Les Eyzies, the Dordogne river for canoe trips and the ancient villages such as Domme plus many other tourist attractions, picturesque towns and villages.
The Foret de la Double is all around and Lake Jemaye - just 20kms away - offers you lakeside beaches, picnic areas, fantastic walks, water sports and restaurants.
Take a drive passing fields of sunflowers and maize and visit the wine estates of Bergerac and the towns old quarters, Monbazillac, Bordeaux and St Emillion, or Brantome with its 13th Century Abbey -all on your doorstep.
Or just relax by the pool enjoy the peaceful setting and everything the Millhouse has to offer you.

Access
It is easy to get here with flights to Bergerac, Limoges, Angouleme and Bordeaux - using either Ryanair, BA, AirLingus or Flybe. You can now fly from Stansted, East Midlands, Leeds and Bradford, Bristol, Edinburgh, Exeter, Southampton, Birmingham and Liverpool.
By Ferry - Boulogne, Caen, Calais, St Malo, Le Havre, Cherbourg and Zeebrugge or EuroTunnel.
Paris (6½ hours) - serviced by the excellent auto routes and the A89 is now to St Astier/Neuvic just 10 minutes away.
