This modern house is available to rent for your holiday in the Dordogne. The property is fully equipped, comfortable and ideal for up to five or six people. The open plan living space with well equipped kitchen and the luxury 10m x 5m salt water pool with well established gardens ensure that this is an ideal relaxing environment in which you will be able to recharge your batteries after the dramatic happenings of those last few months.
There are stunning views of the Vezere valley and surrounding countryside ,with the dramatic sunsets viewed from the terrace which have to be witnessed to be believed. We are situated on the banks of the Vezere River 1.5km South of the market town of Le Bugue in the heart of the Dordogne.
A peaceful rural location yet situated within walking range of the town, which has excellent shopping facilities, numerous tourist attractions and an excellent weekly market .
Euan and Diana the English owners, are available on request to both advise and assist you in gaining the best from your stay in the region, having lived here for over six years . They have a sound insight into the ways of achieving the best out of the area for you, the guests, therefore ensuring that you have a memorable holiday experience.
The House.
Open plan sitting and dining area complete with Sattelite TV with all the main UK Channels , DVD which also plays CD’s and video. and comprehensive selection of books.
Modern fully equipped kitchen with UK double oven , microwave, Fridge/Freezer, dishwasher, cutlery, crockery and a full complement of pots, pans and serving utensils. In addition there is a washing machine and Iron . There are 3 Bedrooms sleeping 5/6 adults, comprising 2 doubles and one twin room. There is a shower and separate toilet upstairs, with two further toilets and a separate shower and bathroom downstairs.
We provide all bed linen and towels but ask you to bring your own towels for use by the pool which can be washed on site in the automatic washing machine provided.
Notes on accommodation
Smoking - In the interest of safety and the comfort of fellow / subsequent guests, we kindly request that you refrain from smoking inside the House. There are Fire extinguisher iand Smoke alarms in the property.
2 Adult bikes available free of charge.
Fans provided in each bedroom.
Outside luxury salt water swimming pool - 10 x 5m, lit at night, on request. Roman steps provide easy access to the pool. The pool is not heated, but during the last two years we have been able to swim comfortably from mid May until late September. The pool temperature can be up to 30 C. Whilst the pool is alarmed to comply with French legislation introduced January 2004, your safety remains your own responsibility and children must be supervised by an adult at all times. Shaded parking is available.
Stunning views over rolling countryside from the terrace and pool. Established gardens for sole use by our guests.
Coast/Beach Bordeaux - the Dunes of Arcachon are just over 2 hour drive to the West of Le Bugue.
Rivers & Lakes – many of the local lakes have beaches, some with slides/swimming platforms and lifeguards during the high season.
Golf There are a number of local golf courses.
Travel
It is an easy journey from the UK whether by car or plane. By Car: We are approximately 350 miles from St Malo, 400miles from Caen and 500 miles from Calais, Boulogne and Dunkirk. All are easy journeys using the excellent French motorway network. If you'd like us to recommend our favourite routes or to discuss your requirements - just ask.
By Air: Bergerac – 40 minutes with direct low cost flights from Stansted, Liverpool, Birmingham, Leeds, Southampton Bristol and Exeter with Ryanair or Flybe. Bordeaux – 2 hours direct flights from Manchester, East Midlands (Nottingham) and Gatwick with BA or Easyjet.

We are ideally situated to enable our guests to enjoy our peaceful location yet be within easy reach of all the main tourist activities, shops & restaurants:
Le Bugue – 1km/20 mins walk– tourist activities, restaurants, numerous supermarkets & weekly market..
Les Eyzies - 9kms/ 20mins – pre-historic caves & museums.
Sarlat - 40 kms/40mins – fa famous medieval town with unique shopping and historic interests for all the family.
Le Buisson Night Market on Fridays, is a favourite with all our guests,
Perigueux – Local “County” town with excellent shopping and restruants and large Supermarkets .

Close to Perigord Noir in the heart of the *Dordogne with a variety of landscapes, flamboyant chateaux and an abundance of prehistoric history. * The vineyards of Bergerac, Bordeaux and St Emilion are within easy reach and regional delicacies include - truffles, foie gras, duck, walnuts and strawberries.

* Le Bugue - aquarium, re-created village, canoeing, caves
* Bastide towns – Sarlat Lalinde, Bergerac Monpazier, Eymet and many others.
* Excellent shopping - Enjoy shopping the local way at one of the many local markets, or for your day to day requirements there are also numerous shopping opportunities minutes away in Le Bugue, Vergt, and the regional capital Perigueux.
* For the motor mad persons, there is also Go-Karting and Quad Bike facilities locally. *Horse Riding can be arranged.
