Maison Rose is a beautiful old country house built in the mid 1800s, offering 3 double bedrooms, large lounge, large kitchen/diner, two showers, two toilets and a large well lit cellar.  The house is situated in a quiet small hamlet in the Perigord Vert, north Dordogne. Maison Rose nestles in its own 12.5 acres of oak woodland and fields, offering beautiful walks or providing peace and tranquillity if you just wish to relax around the gardens or pool area.

Maison Rose is approached via private gravel drive with gates. Our large 33’ x 16.5’ (10m x 5m) swimming pool has roman end steps offering safe gradual entrance to the pool. The pool depth graduates from shallow to deep end and has a safety alarm, meeting the newly required French law for pool safety. A paved area furnished with sun loungers, surrounds the pool.

The lower garden at the house has further table and chairs (in addition to those on the terrace) and a barbeque for those summer al-fresco meals!

For the colder months, the house has oil central heating serving all rooms, and also wood burning stoves in the kitchen and master bedroom, supplied from our own woods.

We supply all your clean linen and towels, but would request that you bring your own towels for use round the pool or for the beach. The property is thoroughly cleaned between each let.

Maison Rose offers good size family accommodation, comprising large lounge with double aspect windows overlooking the grounds. Off the lounge are two of the three double bedrooms: both have a large window, a traditional double sleigh bed and ample wardrobe facilities - one also has a wash hand basin.

From the hall lobby, a few stairs take you down to the family size kitchen/diner - well fitted with many units and worktops, full-size cooker with hob, microwave, family size fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble-dryer.

The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, various cooking dishes, utensils - to meet most requirements, and make you feel home from home.

The dining table comfortably seats 6-8 adults, plus there's a sturdy wooden highchair.
There is a very large fireplace, with large working wood-burning stove, for the colder months.

A door opens onto a furnished terrace with table and chairs to comfortably seat 6 overlooking our fields, woodland and gardens, and provides a fine spot for al-fresco dining.
Sitting here at dusk, we've often seen wild deer wander from the woods.

A further door off the kitchen, leads to steps taking you down to a large, clean, well lit cave (cellar), which houses a large boiler for central heating. A door goes directly to the gardens at this lower level. A toilet and shower room are also here.

Off the hall lobby, five steps go up to the master bedroom with shower en-suite and separate second toilet. Like the lounge, there are dual aspect windows offering beautiful views across woodland, fields, gardens, pool area and drive at the front. Here also is a fireplace with working wood burning stove, as well as central heating. The master bedroom is well furnished with king-size sleigh bed, triple wardrobe with drawer facilities, and large chest of drawers. The en-suite area is spacious, with walk-in American style powerful shower and seat area, and well lit mirror vanity unit with cupboards and drawers under.
