The master bedroom is situated on the first floor and has spectacular views over the garden and vineyards beyond. The bedroom is furnished to include a double bed, and a single bed suitable for a child. The master bedroom also features an en-suite bathroom which is fully fitted to include a full size bath and separate shower.

 

Two adults can sleep comfortably in the double bedroom on the ground floor whilst maintaining their privacy with their own en-suite shower room and private terrace which makes that perfect place to have a more intimate breakfast overlooking the garden.

 

Also situated on the ground floor is the twin bedroom with en-suite featuring double doors opening onto a small terrace and to the garden, great for children who want to play outside in the morning sunshine.

 

The combined living and dining room features ceilings to the full height of the barn with exposed beams and brickwork making the evenings feel homely and warm.

 

The solid oak dining table provides that perfect retreat from the hot summer sun for lunch and cosy evening family dinners.

 

The living area also features a TV, DVD player and a Sky digibox with freeview. You may choose to bring your Sky card with you to enable you to watch the channels that you do normally at home.

 

The well-equipped kitchen comes complete with everything you’d need to make your stay comfortable including a microwave oven, washing machine, dishwasher, separate fridge and large freezer and full-size electric oven to help you recreate those French culinary delights.

 

The French doors from the kitchen lead directly onto the sun terrace which is ideal for those al fresco meals whilst overlooking the pool.

 

The pool is located within the garden to ensure the sun’s rays warm the pool from morning until early evening, providing you with the perfect place to relax with a good book and a glass of the local wine.

 

The owners, David and Emma Worth, live next door with their young son and are on hand to help out whenever necessary.

 

Travelling with Children
Travelling on holiday anywhere can be stressful, even more so when you’re travelling with children. The Walnut Maison gite near Bordeaux is equipped to assist you in making your holiday with your children that much easier.

 

Baby gates are fitted at both the top and bottom of the staircase in the gite to help prevent your little ones from the danger that open staircases invite.

 

A travel cot can be provided (availability upon request) although you would need to provide the linen for the travel cot as this should be individual to each baby’s needs.

 

A chair-top high chair is available in the gite to ensure that meal times in one that includes everyone, no matter how small!

 

A steriliser is provided for your babies’ bottles and dummies to ensure they’re kept as clean and hygienic as possible throughout your stay.

 

Plastic cutlery, plates and bowls are safe for your children to use both inside and outside the Walnut Maison gite.

 

The pool is safe and secure with a fence and padlocked gate to keep children away from the gite swimming pool when not in use.

 

The garden is equipped with slides and a swing which provide hours of fun in a safe and secure garden where both parents and children can relax.

Rental Conditions: 25% Payment at the time of booking, the remaining to be paid 8 weeks prior to arrival. A security deposit of 350 Euros is also required and will be refunded within 2 weeks of your departure if there is no damage/breakages. The 25% deposit is non-refundable and we therefore advise you to take out a travel insurance policy that refunds deposits in the event that you are unable to travel. Unfortunately the gite is a non-smoking property. We will consider pets for long-term lets only. All rentals are provisional until confirmed in writing by the owners.
