Proprty Location The Lot valley south of the Dordogne is a beautiful, unspoilt, temperate and largely undiscovered part of South West France. The open countryside of gentle hills and valleys provide a sense of freedom away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. All within driving distance of many bastide villages such as Monfanquin, Villereal and not forgetting our little own piece of history St Pastour all built around the 13th century. There are several good restaurants nearby, the nearest being in St Pastour who serve a superb lunch for around 12 euro inc wine and within walking distance about 2 kms where you can also pickup your fresh bread and croisants in the local shop. Another excellent restaurant is in Cancon called les Aurberge about 5mins away by car, we can also recommend Du Lac which from around May to Sept hold music nights while you dine, and sit and lookout over the lovely lake. Also during July through to September there are many night makets with attractive arcaded squares where the stall holders are selling their produce for you to enjoy on the warm summer evenings. Daily markets are also held, where everything from local apple pies, dried fruits, cheeses and salamis are available to tempt your tastse buds, a list is available on request. There are also many vineyards close by including Bregerac, Duras, St Emillion, Buzet and Bordeaux. There are a couple of golf courses close by, an Equestrian centre and if you like water sports then the river Lot is only 5 mins away.
