The Domaine de Peyloubère is a 35-acre château estate located near Auch in the heart of Gascony. Self Catering cottages, all totally refurbished and re-equipped, accommodate from up to 4 to 8 people and Bed & Breakfast (Chambre d'hôte) is offered in two suites of rooms in the Manoir. Self Catering guests have exclusive use of the 40ft heated fresh water swimming pool, whereas Bed & Breakfast guests are able to use the owners heated pool. A health spa with sauna, 5-person spa, private garden and sunbathing terrace is available to all guests. All this as well as 35 acres of woodland, lakes and gardens and lots to do and see nearby, makes Peyloubère an ideal self catering holiday or touring location.
Peyloubère is classified as a 'Monument Historique' by virtue of the fact that it was the home of the Italian painter, Mario Cavaglieri for over forty years. Legacies of his ownership are the frescoed ceilings in many of the rooms of the Manoir, the graceful Italian garden and the relaxed, bohemian atmosphere of the Domaine.
All of the cottages have been refurbished and re-equipped to a high standard of comfort and convenience, with families in mind. Babies and young children are welcomed and suitable equipment, facilities and toys are provided at no charge. 'Giulietta', 'Les Rosiers', 'Les Cedres', 'Les Iris' and 'Fermier' are all very different in size and shape and, together with the main house, are arranged around a circular rose garden. Each cottage has its own entrance and they are arranged at differing angles to maintain privacy.
The cottages are fully centrally heated and available to let throughout the year with the exception of 'Les Iris’, which is only available between May and October. 'Les Rosiers' and 'Fermier' have inglenook fireplaces making them favourites during winter months. During the High Season, bookings are from Saturday to Saturday but at other times, and subject to availability, we are happy to accept bookings of any duration.
'Fermier' is a spacious family cottage which lies alongside the main pool and was the lodging of the estate farmer.
The cottage has been completely refurbished and re-equipped to accommodate up to eight people and comprises the following accommodation: on the first floor there is a double room with 5' bed and ensuite shower-room with basin and WC, a twin bedroom, bathroom, separate WC and useful storeroom. The landing leads up a few steps to the large beamed attic room, created with two children of 12 years and under in mind.
On the ground floor, the high-ceilinged sitting and dining room has comfortable seating grouped around the original beamed fireplace and a large dining table and chairs. An archway leads down a step into the modern kitchen. The fourth double bedroom is also on the ground floor overlooking the patio and garden and is especially suitable for independent teenagers, nanny or second adult couple. There is a separate laundry room and WC on the ground floor. The kitchen leads onto the patio with outdoor furniture and barbeque, and the private garden beyond.
Guests are free to use all the facilities of the estate including the heated fresh water swimming pool (12 x 6m). The pool is usually open from April to November and is heated from May to October. Together with the surrounding paved area, it is enclosed by a fence and two self-closing gates. The owners are resident and have a separate pool which is also used by guests to the two chambre d'hôtes.
Also available on site - table tennis, badminton and a football lawn, which is also ideal for cricket and other team games, as well as the health Spa which offers a sauna, 5-person therapeutic spa, sunbathing terrace and private garden. Guests are free to fish the lake and river and to enjoy the woodland and gardens for peaceful walks, bird watching and wild flower collecting. Peyloubère has a group membership of the small tennis club at Pavie (a 5-minute walk) and rackets and balls are available. Each cottage has a library of books and there is a central collection of games, videos and music.
Prices are inclusive of gas, electricity and central heating (if required) as well as all bed linen and bathroom towels and mats. Guests should bring their own pool towels. Beds will be made up ready for arrival and a change of linen is supplied once a week. Families with young children are welcomed and three cots with linen and high chairs are available free of charge. In the High Season we offer discounted rates for bookings of 2 weeks or more, and at other times there are special rates for short stays of up to 4 nights. A wireless Hot-Spot is available for guests which is accessible from the rosegarden.
