A newly restored 17th century stone farmhouse in peaceful countryside on the edge of the Brenne National Park and close to the Loire Valley.
La Caltière is a stone farmhouse, built in the 17th century and recently renovated to offer plenty of comfort while keeping its original features. Decorated in the traditional style, the house is on two floors incorporating a large open-plan minstrels' gallery. Three bedrooms can sleep up to eight guests.
The house is surrounded by a large fenced garden, with plenty of open lawn, some trees, and a 10m x 4m pool with a shower and underwater lighting. The pool is separately fenced for safety.
The garden also has a full size boules pitch, and there is a snooker table in one of the outbuildings. The property is on a slight elevation, with views across the surrounding countryside. The location is very rural, on the edge of a hamlet of seven farmhouses.
On the ground floor, the living room is bright and airy with two stable doors. A stereo system and plenty of comfortable chairs make it a good place to relax. In the dining room, an antique wooden dining table has a set of six leather and wood chairs.
The kitchen is fully equipped and includes an oven, a microwave, a washing machine and dishwasher. The first of the three bedrooms is on the ground floor; it has a double bed. Also on this level is a shower room with a toilet and washbasin.
A flight of wooden steps leads to the upper floor. The master bedroom is a family room with a double bed and two single beds; it has an ensuite shower room with a toilet and washbasin. The other first floor bedroom has a pair of twin beds.
The two rooms open off a large landing which serves as an additional living area. Easy chairs surround a television with a DVD player and a VCR.
