Set in the beautiful Creuse countryside, beloved by Monet and Georges Sand, our gîte is a lovingly restored 17th Century cottage which oozes character, with huge beams and a bread oven, whilst offering all modern facilities for your comfort., a lovely garden with lawn and flower beds, a meadow dotted with trees, and a 10 by 5 metre swimming pool, with terrace and sitting area under a pergola. The ground floor has a large dining kitchen with washing-machine, dish-washer, electric cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, table and chairs, and a sitting-room with books, games and CD player. On the first floor is a large lounge with tv, video and DVD player, a double bedroom and a shower room. Upstairs on the second floor is the master bedroom with kingsize bed, shower room, a single bedroom and a bedroom with two small single beds suitable for children. Outside is a private patio area with barbecue and table and chairs with access to the garden and swimming pool. The gîte is situated in a friendly hamlet only 10 minutes from the interesting medieval town of La Souterraine with shops, bars, supermarkets and restaurants. The region is famed for its rivers and lakes which offer swimming, fishing, water-skiing, wind-surfing, pedalos and boat rides. It is also good walking, horse-riding and cycling country.
