Sleeping 4 in a double and a twin bedroom, with room for cot (available) in either room, Le Hamel has a  fully equipped kitchen/diner,  sitting room with a wood-buring stove in the inglenook, mature gardens with views over adjacent farmland, and a sunny terrace with built-in barbeque. Days out from Le Hamel include Bayeux, the Normandy Beaches, Caen and Granville cathedrals and Mont St Michel. The property is quiet and secluded, ideal for a relaxing rural get-away.

 Le Hamel is a traditional French farmhouse situated in a rural hamlet of Domjean, a 10 minute drive from the country town of Torigni-sur-Vire.  Domjean has a butcher, a baker, an excellent restaurant, a mini-golf course, and a  chocolate factory very nearby in the village of Moyon. Torigni boasts a weekly market (Monday) as well as larger shops, more eating places and Champion  & Lidl  supermarkets.  The main regional town is St Lo, about 15 minutes drive away, with a picturesque castle, river, the National Equestrian Centre, and the usual shops, market and restaurants. 

The coasts are just under an hour away on either side—Bayeux and the Normandy Beaches to the north east and to the west, Granville and Carteret with ferries to the Channel Islands.  Ferries and the Fastcraft operate from Portsmouth and Poole to Caen and Cherbourg The nearest airport is Cherbourg (flights from Southampton) and Caen.

The house currently sleeps 4 in one kingsize  and one twin bedroom upstairs, with room for a cot in either.  There is a WC with washbasin upstairs, and shower room downstairs, again with WC and washbasin.  The fully equipped kitchen has a gas cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.  There is a large dining area at one end. The living room has an inglenook fireplace with a log burner (logs can be supplied).  There is a TV (with British satellite connection) DVD and video.  The garden has a spacious patio area with barbeque. Garden furniture and some games (eg croquet, badminton, boules) are provided.   Linen can be provided, one well-behaved dog is welcome (extra charge) and the changeover day is Saturday (other days or longer lets can be arranged out of main season).
