Map: View MapLa Petite Auberge, Razac d'Eymet Dordogne 24500 France DescriptionHoliday homes / gites for rental in the Dordogne, near Bergerac, with pool A relaxing place for your French holiday in all seasons, La Petite Auberge is a charmingly converted Perigordine farm, set in lovely rolling countryside, offering a large six bedroom Gite, two, 2 bedroom Gites, a one bedroom Gite and an apartment. The auberge is child friendly and has a fenced 10m by 5m pool. There is plenty to entertain your family with giant chess, boules pitch, table tennis, badminton net (also good for volley ball) and small goal post for football. The property stands on a chalk outcrop on the edge of an ancient river valley on the edge of a small village. It has one and a half acres of mature gardens set out with swimming pool, sun terraces and shady areas. There is a further four acres for strolling and playing in, together with a small lake, for guests to fish in for the resident population of carp (upto 14lbs), perch, roach, bleak and sunfish. La Petite Auberge is about 20 km from Bergerac (Department 24 - Dordogne) which is on the Dordogne river and only 4 km to the bastide town of Eymet with its shops, market, evening markets and retaurants. It was originally a 17th century farm with outbuildings with have been sympathetically renovated to provide holiday accommodation with character. The main building has a large 6 bedroom gite, a one bedroom gite and a two bedroom gite and there is a separate building which has the second two bedroom gite. Whilst there is plenty to do at la Petite Auberge, it is in an area of great beauty with rolling hills, vineyards and plum orchards. Within a short drive, there is also plenty to do for both energetic and non energetic clients. These include canoeing, horseriding, 10 pin bowling, ballon flights, morning, night and farmers markets, festivals, museums, chateaux, wine tasting and of course grrrrrreat food. You can get a 4 course lunch with wine for about 12 euros, and a gourmet evening meal for under 40 with everything in between. To get a better idea of what is going on in this area, look at the download page on our website www.auberge-razac.com Our Gites Accommodation is split into 4 self contained gite or holiday cottages and an apartment (only available mid September to mid June). The largest sleeps up to 14 whilst the smallest sleeps 2 (we do not use sofa beds). This means the Auberge is great for couples, families and large groups. The accommodation is La Grande Maison - sleeps 14 Le Poulallier - sleeps 4 La Ferme - sleeps 4 La Petite Maison - sleeps 2 and Le Studio which sleeps 2. Le Grande Maison This the largest of the 4 gites. It has 6 bedrooms with enough double and single beds (there are no sofa beds) to sleep 14 comfortably. You enter the gite via a the front door. To your right is the large farmhouse style kitchen with a gas range cooker, side-by-side fridge freezer with ice maker (great for hot days or a pre dinner G&T), a small second fridge for drinks, dishwasher and microwave oven. The central island has a stainless steel work surface which is good for food preparation and to put hot pan on. There is a table and four chairs which makes life easier for breakfast or feeding the kids. The back door leads into your private courtyard which is good for Al fresco dinning. There is seating for 14 and this area also has your charcoal burning BBQ and gas hot plate. Opposite the kitchen is the dinning room with seating for 14 at two tables. There is a downstairs toilet off this room. The large lounge (9m by 7m) with a cathedral ceiling is the other side of dinning room. It was originally a barn so there are plenty of beams and stone walls. There is a large patio door with over window (the original barn opening) which lets in the sunlight so the room isn't dark. This room has two 2 seater sofas and two 3 seater sofas with various armchairs if you want to spend sometime indoors. There is a TV with freeview and a DVD player with DVD's,and an out of tune piano. There is also a wood burning stove which is great in the winter but shouldn't be needed in the summer with temperatures up to the mid 30 degree C. Off the lounge is the mezzanine with a dart board, puzzels, board games, working harmonium and a large number of books if you forget your own. If you go back to the hallway, through the dinning room, you get to the ground floor master bedroom, with a kingsize bed, loads of wardrobe space, door to the private courtyard and an ensuite bathroom. This has 2 sinks, bath, bidet, toilet and separate shower. At the end of the hall is the laundry room with 2 washing machines and a door into the large garden. From the hall is a stairs to the first floor. Three of the bedrooms upstairs have either an ensuite bathroom or shower room whilst the other 2 bedrooms share a shower room. There is plenty of hot water (there are 3 hot water tanks) so usually there is no hanging about for showers when you want to go out. The largest of the upstairs bedrooms has a bath with shower over whist the other ensuites have a shower. The main house has gas central heating to the two master bedroom suites, hallway and kitchen, whilst the other bedrooms have electric heating.
