We have 3 properties situated around a central courtyard, Rest Huella Farmhouse dating from 1731, L'Ecurie Cottage and Le Grenier, in which we the owners live.

We are set in an enviable position, in the wooded river valley of the Aulne, beautiful views, tranquil but far from remote. Large gardens of open lawned spaces, small orchard and several sun terraces and patios.  B.B.Q's and garden furniture supplied.

Rest Huella farmhouse sleeps 8 plus in 4 large bedrooms, large well equipped kitchen with log burner, comfortable lounge with views out of the french windows. Two bedrooms have vanity units, one has a walk in shower as well as the bathroom & WC which has a bath with shower over.

L'Ecurie south facing cottage has 3 large bedrooms which sleeps 6 plus. Open plan lounge and kitchen, the lounge has plenty of comfortable seating and a wood burning stove. The kitchen is well equipped and has french doors leading out onto the patio.

Both properties are fully equipped and have T.V. with Satellite digi-box programs.

We also have a little cottage in Port Launay, overlooking the Brest to Nantes canal, where you can watch the boats outside the windows. This cottage is very deceptive and is far bigger inside than it appears, having 3 storeys and 2 and 3 rooms deep. This cottage sleeps 6 plus and has open plan kitchen and lounge with french T.V. and english satellite digi-box programs.

There are two bathrooms and toilets in this cottage. There is no garden as such, but lots of places to eat out on the river banks if you prefer to eat 'Al Fresco' Private parking outside.

All of our cottages have 2 euro coin meters for the electric, which is set at the lowest possible rate to help out with our costs. Fuel and calor gas where required is supplied free of charge.

All duvets and pillows are supplied, but linen must be supplied by yourselves or hired at a cost of £10 per double and £8 per single, but linen must be supplied.

Towels can be hired if prefered for £3 per person. Teatowels are supplied.

Our area is very picturesque, we haven't seen anywhere better in all of our travels, that's why we live here!!  We are on the 1st lock gates on the Brest to Nantes canal. Port Launay was voted one of the most picturesque port villages in France.

We are ideally placed for the many beaches, little rocky coves and large wide sandy beaches, all within 12 miles. Our beaches are white sand and warm seas in summer and never crowded.

Quimper, with it's cosmopolitan atmosphere, old world charm and timbered houses and shops overhanging the narrow streets is a mere 20 mins away. Visit the awe inspiring cathedral of St. Corentin and shop in the latest trendy fashion shops or browse among the typical Breton fayre, there is something for everyone and if you get tired of shopping, sit outside one of the many pavement cafes and restuarants and watch the world go by.

We are also 20 mins from Douarnenez with it's ship museum and seafood restaurants overlooking the old harbour. Locronon is next door, a medieval village frozen in time.

There are many small, charming villages such as Chareauneuf du Faou, canalside restaurants and the stunning Red brick Chateau of Trevarez with its beautiful gardens of azaleas, rhododendrons, camelias and hydrangeas. Le Faou with its slate facade houses and estuary.

Nearer to home, Chateaulin, 5 mins drive from Rest Huella and the cottage, is very pretty on both sides of the river and has 3 supermarkets, lots of shops, bars and restaurants, pavement cafes and everything you need. It also has a thriving market on Thursdays.

Port Launay has two very friendly bars, two restaurants and a creperie in the square, along with the town hall and the church, there is a friendy boulangerie too. The people of Port Launay are righly proud of their village and wlecome vsitors. Breton people are well known as being the frendliest people in France. We can vouch for that!

The area is ideal for fishing, free our side of the weir but a permit needed if fishing upstream, bass, salmon, pollock, dorade etc.

Horse riding is 5 mins walk from Rest Huella.  Cycling, walking, rambling are all highly popular here because of the nature of the countryside, canalside towpaths and footpaths across the fields are a delight to walk.

Chateaulin has swimming, tennis, cycle hire. disco. Golf courses are within one hours drive or less in each direction.

This area has everthing to offer the holidaymaker whether you want to relax or explore.
