A warm welcome to Maison Brousse

Maison Brousse offers wonderful and tranquil B&B accommodation near to the Medieval Town of Le Dorat in France's Haute Vienne.

La Maison was recently extended and renovated. It has an indoor heated swimming pool, a gym, two south facing sun decks over looking two acres of lawn and beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.    

The accommodation on offer comprises two large double bedrooms on the first floor, each with an en-suite wet room and a ground floor bedroom with en-suite for those who do not like the stairs.  Each room has tea/coffee making facilities.  There is also a ground floor sitting room with a television for you to use. 

For those of you that are unable to tear yourself away from the modern world; there is a wireless broadband internet connection and a fax available

There is also ample car parking.

Food & Drink

• A Continental Breakfast of porridge, cereal , fruits juice, fresh fruit, yoghurts, and a selection of  fresh breads.

• A full English Breakfast of sausages, bacon, eggs, and  beans or tomatoes is available for a small additional charge.

• Four course meals with wine, packed lunches, and afternoon tea are also available on request, also for an additional charge.

  • Bed & Breakfast is €65 per room per night including continental breakfast.

  • A full English breakfast is €7 per person.

  • A 4 course evening meal with wine is available upon request for €20 per person.

  • Afternoon Tea (sandwiches, cakes, scones, jam, cream, tea and coffee) and packed lunches are available upon request.

Where is Maison Brousse?

Maison Brousse is near the ancient medieval town of le Dorat, situated in the Limousin region of France.  Le Dorat is within one hours drive of the cities of  Limoges and Poitiers.    

Directions

Maison Brousse is only a 45 minute drive from Poitiers or Limoges, or a 15 minutes from junction 23 of the A20 motorway.  The TGV (fast rail line) at Poitiers will get you to Paris in only one and a half  hours.

The hamlet of La Brousse is a few minutes away from Le Dorat on the D675.  Please call us for specific directions.

Le Dorat & Environs

Le Dorat is a pretty Roman Walled town with a medieval church of historic interest. It has a cinema (which does show films in English), a post office, bars, restaurants, and cafés.  Le Dorat also boasts a super market and number of small shops; all with in a few minutes drive of Maison Brousse.  The Haute Vienne is known as the lake district of France, with superb lakes for fishing,  hiking, horse trekking, canoeing, bird watching, cycling, golf, and arts and crafts.   The history of Richard the Lion Heart is also close by.  The city of Limoges is best known for its fine china and pottery, whilst Poitiers has the amazing Futuroscope theme park. Skiing or the atlantic coast is only few hours away.
